5Perfect gym flooringJan 28, 2011
By Jason L. Pyrz
Bought 4 packs of these, as well as some edging, to place under the treadmill, weight bench, and stationary bike in our basement, which is carpeted. These are not cheap foam mats, they are tough (yet easily cut with a utility knife) and stay connected even on when placed on the soft, carpeted floor of our basement. I was expecting at least some of the seams to pop apart due to the panels being placed on carpet rather than a hard floor, but that was not the case.

The resulting look is very professional, and unlike the reviews I've seen on other gym-flooring tiles, there is no oily residue on these, nor are there any lingering odors. I'm definitely glad I went with these over foam pads/mats. If I ever get around to it, I will post photos of the finished look.

4Great product if you don't need any padding. A bit expensive, though.Feb 20, 2011

I'm debating returning this item, only because it really has no padding. I bought it for working out (jumps, plyometrics, high-impact exercise, etc.) in the basement, on a concrete floor. I saw that the product is made from PVC, but thought maybe it would have some give to it or be a little more like the foam, padded mats I saw on Amazon. The mats are basically flexible plastic. They interlock well and have decent traction, due to the pattern on them. While working out on them they don't seem to move around or unlock either. These mats would probably be best in a garage or gym that has heavy items, workout machines, heavy dumbbells, or other such things that may damage padded mats. I will either try to return these mats and buy padded mats, add softer mats on top of these, or use these mats in my garage.

Pros:
Mats interlock well, and stay together.
Easy to clean.
Mats don't move around or slide.
Durable.
Supposed to be antimicrobial.
Shipped quick.

Cons:
The mats are expensive compared to some other similar items.
No padding - don't get these mats if you are looking for something padded to work out on.
May not be useful as a childrens' mat due to hardness.
The boxes that the mats were shipped in were much larger than needed (2 to 3 times larger than the box of mats).

3too expensiveApr 21, 2012

this product is good but it's too expensive. it's 9 feet by about 1 and a half. or 4 1/2 by 3. you have to buy at least 4 for really any decent application and that's $160 bucks at it's best price. if the price ever would come down more it'd be a good product.

1Not as expectedMar 03, 2012

The gym mat seemed like good quality, but it was very difficult to interlock the squares together -- even with a rubber mallet. After trying to put together 3 of the 6 squares, we gave up and decided to return it. It was too much of a pain. We returned it in exchange for a regular mat (in one piece) to go underneath our new treadmill.
